University of Guelph Badminton Club Open 2014

This past Saturday, February the 1st, a bunch of friends and I decided to play the Guelph tournament. The competition in this tournament isn't as high as some other tournaments hosted in the area, so call what we play here chillsminton. I was also asked to take photos while I was there, so here they are. 

North American International Auto Show 2014

A few of us decided to go down to Detroit and check out the auto show. We mostly wanted to see the new concept car, the Toyota FT-1. I also wanted to see what the new Subaru WRX STI was like in person. Here are some shots of some new cars. Look forward to next month when I go to the Canadian International Autoshow. This was also my first "outing" or "event" that I took my new Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 II IS USM lens. That thing is a beast, but pretty not useful for car photos unless you're standing far away. Since I had it with me, I had to use it so there are a few shots below of the Toyota FT-1 that are zoomed in. Enjoy.

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada

I've been meaning to go to this place for a while. I was hesitant because it was a bit pricey in my opinion. It's still new so when I got in, it was nice and clean. The weekends are still pretty rammed. Probably around 1 hour wait to get in, but I decided to go on a Monday night. Still seemed like there were quite a lot of people. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but it was entertaining. I was in the gift shop on the way out and noticed some turtle plush toys but then realized I didn't see any live turtles in the aquariums.

I took this picture a while back when I went to Vancouver to see my sister. This is one of her dogs, Scout. He is a handsome dog, but very energetic and hectic when new people are introduced into his environment.

So today I went down to the habour front to go look around and wait for the airshow to start. It was scheduled for 1PM then rescheduled at 1:20. I still didn't see any planes flying around so I just took a stroll and used my macro lens to shoot stuff. This is one of the things I was able to shoot.
